Faisal Qureshi aka Faysal Qureshi is one of the most versatile actors of our country. He has marvelous acting skills that make him stand high among the crowd of many. Over the years, Faisal has carved a niche for himself with his stunning performances in many super-hit drama serials. From his rustic role in Boota from Toba Tek Singh to his critically acclaimed character of Ayaz in Roag, from his intensely moving performance in Meri Zaat Zarra-e-Benishan to his comic character in Kis Din Mera Viyaah Howay Ga, he has proved time and again that he can portray any character with ease. This gifted actor believes he has a long way to go.

Faisal Qureshi was born to Abid Qureshi and widely popular film actress Afshan Qureshi in Lahore. It was due to the frequent visits to TV sets with his mother that Qureshi was first discovered. He was first married at the age of 18, but his marriage was  unsuccessful and the couple was divorced 7 years later, despite having a 6 year old daughter, Hanish. He married again when he was 28, though once again, the marriage was unsuccessful and the couple was divorced 2 years later. He has a son with his second wife who now lives in the UK. He married a third time, at the beginning of 2010 to a woman named Sana. Faisal has one daughter with Sana. He now lives in Karachi with his mother, wife, and 18-year old daughter Hanish Qureshi and new born daughter with Sana, while his son lives in the UK with his mother. Faisal is good friends with fellow actor Aijaz Aslam and director Babar Javed.

Faisal started his career in acting as a child artist from PTV's play Emergency Ward, and also appeared in the play Andhera Ujala as a child. His first major acting role as an adult was in the 1992 film Saza. Qureshi went on to star in 19 other films, but quit after four years in the film industry and went on to pursue a career as a full-time television actor.

He appeared in various minor roles before landing his first lead role as Boota in Toba Tek Singh. Qureshi has stated about his acting career that "I never wanted to be a hero. I've always wanted to be first and foremost, an actor. The thought of becoming a director or producer," he says, "has never appealed to me. I still feel I have far to go as far as acting is concerned."

You have achieved so much over the years. Your biggest achievement so far?
My family is happy with me so I consider that as my greatest achievement. I am very happy that my family is content with me.

Who is your favourite female co-star?
There are quite a few, but those who wear less make-up and are thoroughly committed to their work are my most favourite co-stars.Faisal Qureshi

What do you do in your leisure hours?
I spend time with my family, play cricket, watch movies and of course I absolutely love to spend time with my fans. So I do a lot of things in my spare time.

Once you said that Nadeem Sahab was your biggest inspiration.
When I watch him acting, I find his attention to detail really amazing. Moreover, he had this huge on-screen presence which no one else has even now. People often say that they see a reflection of Nadeem Sahab in my acting, which is a huge compliment for me.

It has become a trend nowadays to make dramas on bold and tabooed subjects. Do you think this should continue?
I think we should talk about these things, because by highlighting them we are trying to come up with solutions. Honestly speaking, Man-o-Salwa and Manay Na Yeh Dil have totally changed the overall picture of our drama industry.

You did a few films as well in the beginning of your career. Any plans of working in films in the near future?
Yes, offers are coming in. In fact, I got one offer just recently, but because my fans rely on me so much, I try my best not to disappoint them. I will do a movie eventually, however, on my own terms.

Where do you see yourself in a few years’ time?
I am not an astrologer, so I cannot predict anything. God knows better, because I never plan things on my own.

Please tell us about your upcoming projects.
My upcoming projects are Mera Yaqeen and Mera Pehla Pyar
